We're expanding our basketball coverage

NBA predictions have been part of SharpTips from early on. We're now building out deeper coverage across basketball, starting with the EuroLeague.

When we launched SharpTips, basketball coverage started with the NBA - the league with the deepest publicly available statistical data, and a natural fit for the kind of form, pace and matchup-driven analysis our process is built around. It's remained one of the more popular sports on the site since, and it's the one we've had the most requests to expand.

So we're doing that. Over the coming weeks, we'll be broadening our basketball coverage beyond the NBA to include the EuroLeague, bringing the same process - form and recent results, head-to-head patterns, and market movement - to a competition with its own distinct tactical character: generally a more deliberate pace, a heavier emphasis on team system over individual shot creation, and a smaller, more tightly bunched field than the NBA's 30 teams.

That last point matters for how we're approaching it. A smaller, more homogenous league changes the shape of the analysis - home-court patterns, rest and travel between games, and roster continuity across a long European season all carry weight in slightly different ways than they do in the NBA, and we're building that into our process rather than just porting over an NBA-shaped model with different team names.

This sits alongside work we've been doing more generally to make sure each sport we cover gets an approach genuinely suited to it, rather than one generic model stretched across football, tennis and basketball. Tennis analysis leans heavily on surface and serve/return data in a way that has no real football equivalent; football leans more on expected-goals and set-piece patterns; basketball brings its own mix of pace, efficiency and rotation-driven variables. Getting the sport-specific detail right matters more to us than covering more competitions quickly.

As with everything we publish, EuroLeague predictions will carry the same confidence labelling and the same hedged, non-promissory language as the rest of the site, and every published pick will be tracked to its outcome the same way our existing coverage is.

If there's a specific competition, in basketball or otherwise, you'd like to see us cover next, we'd genuinely like to hear about it - the Contact page is the quickest way to reach us.
